Lost Channels is the fourth full-length from Toronto-based Tony Dekker’s Great Lake Swimmers project. Out of the ordinary recording locations include abandoned grain silos, churches, historic sites, even an old castle situated on the St. Lawrence Seaway. The album is lyrically strong, well crafted & filled with a hypnotic mix of country-tinged melancholy.
Release Date: 6th April 2009 Label: Nettwerk
This Great Lake Swimmers gem of a session comes from US campus & community station CHSR 97.9 http://www.chsrfm.ca./ - It was recorded this year, however the track “Moving Pictures, Silent Films” is taken from their self titled 2005 album.
[Since Lisa wrote this, we have been sent a link to an interview and performance of the band on US news channel NBC's website. You can check out the videos here. It goes to show that not all American news networks spout sensationalist, unsubstantiated, irrelevant drivel all the time.
